Jim has dealt with diabetes for the past 39 years. He has undergone procedures to help regulate his insulin delivery. Unfortunately, Jim can experience rapid changes in his blood sugar level.
After researching D.A.Ds (Diabetic Alert Dogs) we fond Mulligan at Brooks Labradors. Mulligan will help alert Jim to low and high blood sugar levels. This is important because Jim suffers from "hypoglycemic unawareness". This is when a diabetic does not feel the symptoms of a low blood sugar. Having a D.A.D will help Jim keep his sugar level in a normal range which means he can live a healthier and more independent life.
This is an amazing opportunity but it takes a lot of training to get Mulligan fully trained. The donations that are received will go toward the cost of training Mulligan to be a D.A.D.
