Jill's Breast Cancer Fight Page

This is Jill Katterjohn, she is a fun loving and devoted mother to 2 beautiful little girls who was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer).  Jill is one of those women who simply will never ask for help despite how desperately she may need it and this is certainly one of those times.  Jill is a busy mom to her 7 and 9-year-old daughters who are very active little girls.  She spends her time as a hair stylist, running between school and church activities, carpooling to and from sporting events and music lessons.  She is just like every other Mom of young girls, except, she also has cancer.  Words cannot explain the heart break to hear such awful unexpected news, it was simply devastating. How does this happen to a young, active healthy woman?  Why?  What we do know is there are a lot of people, just like you, who are praying for Jill and her family and she along with all of us are truly grateful. 

While many of us know the power of prayer, it is truly one of the things getting us through this devastating situation, the financial burden of a medical diagnosis like this is crippling.  Jill has insurance but as many of you know it doesn’t take care of everything and most recently she had to face the sad reality that she is unable to get assistance to purchase a wig.  She has already begun her chemotherapy treatments as is only a short time away from losing her beautiful hair.  While we all appreciate its “just hair”, with everything else that is begin taken from her right now, to be able to look in the mirror and see some semblance of her former self, will be such an emotional lift for her. 

Jill is always willing to step up and help anyone who asks from volunteering for those less fortunate, being “room Mom” at school, volunteering in the cafeteria, to working the fundraising events just to name a few.  She would never ask for any help so we are asking for her, if there is anything you can do to help her ease this financial burden especially now, during the Christmas season, we would all be so grateful.
