HELP ADAM & KRISTIN BREATHE EASY AGAIN
My niece's husband, Adam Rodriguez, was in a single car accident on November 9th while heading home to take his eldest son to karate practice in NY. This young couple parent their two young sons, AJ, 8, and Damian, 6. The impact totaled their only car, but did far worse damage to Adam. He has been in an induced coma with a ventilator breathing for him since that night. Injury to his liver and spleen, a broken hip and arm, multiple rib fractures, collapsed lung and pneumonia will keep him from supporting his family for an unknown period of time. Unfortunately, his job does not offer sick pay and they, as many people today, are living paycheck to paycheck.
The doctors have tried unsuccessfully to bring him out of the coma on two occasions and will try again next Sunday, November 19. My niece, who until the last year was a stay-at-home Mom has been constantly by his side and unable to work. My sister, Margaret (who many of you may remember as Jodie) and brother-in-law, Peter Passalacqua, who are both now beyond retirement age, are alternating as kid caregivers, driving back and forth to their home in MD.
Adam and Kristin are young, hard working parents who have already had much adversity in their lives with Damian being a special needs child. The hurdles in front of them currently seem insurmountable with no income, hospital bills, and child care. In addition to your prayers, I am humbly asking that if you have the ability to assist them in any way, large or small, your generosity will be deeply appreciated.
