<div>Hi, my name is Heather G Harris, and I'm fundraising for an Indie Fantasy Writer's Scholarship, in memory of my wonderful friend and co-writer, Jilleen Dolbeare. Jill passed away in October 2025, and the world has lost an utterly brilliant storyteller.

<div>Jill was always ready with warmth and encouragement for other authors. And her advice was precious, because she never beat around the bush – if she told you something was good, you knew it was, because if it wasn’t, she’d tell you exactly what you needed to do to fix it! I cannot tell you how many other authors Jill helped over the course of her self-publishing journey. She nurtured and tutored many new writers, helping them avoid the mistakes she felt that she had made along the way. Not only has she written wonderful fiction which will be loved by many for many years to come, but she gave of herself freely to so many who will be forever marked by her friendship.

<div>I want to continue Jill's precious legacy by setting up a scholarship to support self-published authors writing in the fantasy genre at the early stages of their career. I honestly believe that Jill would whole-heartedly support this.

<div>The scholarship will be used to pay for writing-related costs chosen by the recipient(s) of the scholarship - for example, costs associated with editing, cover design, author software, attending courses or conferences, and advertising.
