Georgia Lynn  the precious daughter of Summer and Justin Holditch (Goretzki) She is just 7 years old , but she already knows a thing or two about overcoming obstacles, she’s been doing it her whole life. When she was just a few months old she was hospitalized with a serious lung infection and has been in and out of hospitals fighting ever since.

Nebulizer treatments, inhalers and regular medication has become a way of life, but despite her doctors best efforts her lung function has continued to decline. Falling to an all time low of just 53% in early 2017. That’s when her family started making regular trips to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton to figure out why.

Since then the list of medications ,tests, and specialist continues to grow. She does daily physiotherapy and takes 8 different medications to help her breath. Right now she has stage 3 aspergillosis in her lungs and is currently steroid dependent. This past year she’s undergone two minor surgeries to improve her quality of life and has had several tests and procedures for atypical cystic fibrosis, and genetic testing is being done to diagnose her properly.

Unable to keep up with a traditional classroom due to her frequent hospital stays and the side effects of her medication, she left school in November 2017 to be homeschooled by her mom.

She began immunotherapy treatments this year which require her family to travel to Edmonton every second week. This is on top of her regular scheduled appointments and therapies. These treatments are expensive, costing $2400 each time, and thankfully right now there is funding available but it will run out in April and her family will have to take on a portion of the cost.

Her family would also like to purchase an airway clearance device for her and have money set aside for future medical trips and more medical equipment as it becomes necessary.

This will be a life long journey for Georgia, and we believe her positive attitude and fighting spirit will take her far, but she can go even farther with your help. Please consider donating to her medical fund and supporting her on this journey.
