Jaymie Noelle Poage is a 20 year old missionary and humanitarian. Over the past year she has been working with YWAM (Youth With A Mission) in Belize. She attended Discipleship Training School which prepared her for a two month trip to Peru where she lived, helped, and witnessed to the villagers. Shortly after returning, she recieved more schooling and flew off to the Democratic Republic of Congo in Africa for another two months. Jaymie finally retured home for a short while, working four jobs and saving money to fulfill a two year commitment with YWAM where she would be serving as a leader.
On Decmeber 22nd, Jaymie was leading a team of people to Ethipoia where they had a short layover in Washinton D.C. While waiting for the flight to Ethipoia, Jaymie collasped.
Jay has been fighting for her life in Virginia in an unresponsive state since. The Doctors are unsure of a lot of things, but they do know that Jaymie has encephalitis and encephalopathy which is swelling and irregularities in the brain. Due to what is going on with her brain, she will have to stay at the hospital until there is improvment, which is unclear when that will be. This is racking up medical bills quickly as is understandable.
Her parents and sisters are with her now, which is costing money as well because of the time off work, travel expenses, hotel, and food expenses. Jaymie will need therapy once there is improvement which costs money as well. Please, if you feel led, whether it be $5, $50, or $500 , anything at all helps. Everyone who meets this young woman falls in love with her bright blue eyes, big smile and a heart to help other people. Jaymie is a fighter and she is gonna fight through it, but could use our help to do it.
