<div>Somos Javi García, Luis M. Campillo y Ana Reina, integrantes de la productora Suburbio Films. Gracias a un gran equipo técnico y artístico, formado por decenas de personas, hemos conseguido rodar <em>The Way of Wade</em>,  una miniserie de ficción medieval grabada en la provincia de Sevilla.

<div>En ella, recorremos varios paisajes, castillos y localizaciones emblemáticas de varios pueblos de Sevilla, recreando un universo ficticio basado en el reino medieval de Northumbria e inspirado en la mitología artúrica. Acompañaremos a Wade Walker, quien irá explorando estos asombrosos lugares, sus gentes y los peligros que esconden, a medida que descubre su destino.

<div><strong>SINOPSIS</strong>
</div>
<div>En el siglo XI,  el joven Wade tiene intereses totalmente distintos a los de su padre, el señor feudal de Hawk Hill, un importante territorio del reino de Northumbria. La rebeldía de Wade lo lleva a huir de su castillo y su destino.

<div>Años después, entra al servicio de Connor Pendragon, rey de Northumbria. La corte desconfía de la lealtad del señor de Hawk Hill, por lo que envían a Wade de vuelta a su hogar para investigar el asunto. Durante su travesía se enfrentará a multitud de desafíos, que convertirán al chico en un hombre.

<div><strong>¿PARA QUÉ ES LA FINANCIACIÓN?</strong>

<div><em>The Way of Wade</em> es un proyecto independiente que se ha desarrollado sin una financiación fija. En él han participado más de cien personas y varias instituciones que esperan ver crecer esta obra y que tenga el reconocimiento que se merece.

<div>Actualmente, la miniserie se encuentra en una fase temprana de postproducción y tu donación será destinada a cubrir los <strong>costes de distribución y marketing</strong>.

<div><strong>UNA MINISERIE NACIDA DEL <em>LARP</em></strong>
</div>
<div>El <strong><em>LARP </em></strong>(Live Action Role Playing) es un juego de rol en vivo en el que los participantes crean e interpretan personajes de forma improvisada, normalmente enmarcados en mundos ficticios de fantasía y/o ciencia ficción. 
</div>

<div>El <strong><em>softcombat </em></strong>es un deporte en el que los jugadores pelean con armas acolchadas (principalmente armas blancas medievales como espadas y hachas).

<div>El mundo y algunos personajes de <em>The Way of Wade</em> surgen del grupo de rol en vivo y <em>softcombat </em>de <strong>Northumbria LARP</strong>, creado en la ciudad de Sevilla en 2022.  De nuestra pasión por el LARP y el audiovisual nació <em>The Way of Wade</em> en el que algunos de los actores han creado a los mismos personajes que ellos mismos interpretan.

<div>Por otra parte, el universo creado por el grupo de Northumbria LARP ha sido adaptado a esta miniserie para que te adentres y disfrutes en un mundo de fantasía medieval, tanto si eres miembro de la comunidad del <em>LARP </em>como si no.

<div><strong>¿EN QUÉ SE BASA EL REINO DE NORTHUMBRIA?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>En la realidad <strong>Northumbria </strong>fue el reino más septentrional de lo que actualmente es Inglaterra. Si bien es cierto que dicho reino existió en la realidad (entre los años 653 y 954 d.C. aproximadamente) algunas ciudades, la historia y los personajes son ficticios, aunque se mencionan algunos lugares que sí existieron (o existen) y nos basamos en el mapa real del antiguo territorio de Northumbria con algunas modificaciones.

<div>Por otra parte, el universo tiene como base fundamental las <strong>leyendas artúricas</strong>, aunque no es del todo fiel, mantenemos a los personajes principales (Arturo, Lancelot, Mordred...) y añadimos algún otro (Connor hijo de Arturo). Además de lugares míticos como la legendaria fortaleza de Camelot.

<div>En resumen, para la formación de este universo nos hemos basado en la <strong>historia real</strong> y las <strong>leyendas </strong>de la Inglaterra medieval.

<div><strong>Suburbio Films</strong> es la productora que se encarga de la realización de la miniserie. Formada por un grupo de estudiantes del grado de Comunicación Audiovisual de la Universidad de Sevilla entre 2022 y 2023. Dedicada en su mayoría a la producción de cortometrajes, en 2024 el equipo de Suburbio se embarcó en un proyecto titánico con la intención de crear una historia entretenida pero con trasfondo. Aunque en principio contábamos con pocos recursos, hemos conseguido llevar a cabo el proyecto gracias al apoyo de muchas personas que se han ido uniendo al equipo, a la Universidad de Sevilla y a entidades (como el ayuntamiento de Alcalá de Guadaíra, los Molares, Mairena del Alcor y El Coronil, entre otros) que nos han ofrecido espacios acordes al mundo que queríamos representar.

<div>Mientras que Suburbio Films es la que aporta el equipo técnico y la visión cinematográfica, <strong>Northumbria LARP</strong> (y la comunidad del rol en vivo en general) nos ofrece algunos miembros del equipo artístico, tanto actores principales y secundarios como figurantes. Además una gran base sobre la que se cimienta el guion de la miniserie.
