New Prosthetic Leg for my Son
Donation protected
So for my son's entire life we were lucky enough to have Shriners Hospitals in our life. They had made and had given him his prosthetic leg with no cost to us. The reason I am so grateful is each one of his legs cost around $25,000 or more and he needed one every year. The insurance I had considered this durable medical equipment and that only covered anywhere from $1,500 - $2,500 per year.
With Chandler now 18, Shriners will no longer be able to help him.
We have found a local place that makes state of the art legs with the latest technology. We are looking at getting him a military grade leg, but we need help with co-payment.
