Help Frankie Beat Cancer!

Dear family and friends,

In late May, Frankie began to experience extreme pain on her right side. Thinking that she probably had an infection or a kidney stone, she rushed to the hospital. Initially, the doctor agreed with her assessment, but after a series of tests, he discovered a large tumor in her colon. This news was absolutely devastating.
Then, after visiting multiple specialists and undergoing a battery of scans and examinations, they discovered that her situation was far worse than anyone expected—Frankie has Stage 4 Cancer, which has spread aggressively from her breast to her liver, and finally to her colon. Given the advanced stage, frequency, and location of these dangerous, metastatic tumors, surgery is not an option, so she must be treated immediately with Chemotherapy.

Frankie could be successful in any career, but she has chosen to spend her life caring for others, often during their darkest times. She began taking care of the elderly and terminally-ill in her late teens, and now, over 40 years later, she has cared for hundreds of patients and helped scores of families in the Ithaca area. Anyone who knows Frankie would tell you that she was put on this earth to do Hospice work. She is incredibly kind, loving, strong, intelligent, genuine, compassionate, and so much more, which has led many of her patients over the years to refer to her as “their angel.”
Frankie was a star athlete in her youth, and she has since served as a head or assistant coach for dozens of teams across the Ithaca and Indianapolis areas. Whether it was volleyball, softball, or little-league, she gave each team her all, offering advice, encouragement, expertise, and support to countless kids over nearly 30 years.
Though she has already raised her three children (and several of their friends) as a single mother, Frankie is now raising her two grandchildren—Julean and Sirius. Julean is a quickly growing 13 year old who loves to play sports, and his little brother, Sirius, is a happy 3 year old who loves his family and playing with his big brother. Before the cancer hit, her life revolved around raising these boys, but now Frankie is fighting to have as much time with them and her family as possible.

Despite this sudden, devastating situation, she continues to be strong, positive, hopeful, and courageous, all while juggling the many difficult decisions she must make regarding her treatment and dealing with the intense pain and lethargy that accompany her condition. She has been (and continues to be) an inspiration to us all.

Please Help!

Frankie does not have sufficient funds or health insurance for the intensive treatments and medication she needs, and she has no way to pay for the numerous tests, scans, exams, and biopsies she has already undergone. To make matters worse, she is no longer physically able to care for her own patients, so she has completely lost her income along with all her cases. With the addition of $2,500+ per week treatment sessions, extensive travel, and numerous expensive medications, her situation is growing worse by the day—but she is determined to fight no matter the cost.
What she needs most at this time is financial help, since this will enable her to focus on staying as strong, positive, and healthy as possible while she battles this aggressive cancer.

Please help support this beautiful woman and her family. Her personality beams brightly, and she has been a blessing to so many throughout the years (and hopefully many more to come). Anyone who knows Frankie knows she would do everything in her power to help someone in need, even at her own expense. We want to help her now in any way that we can, and this is a tangible, direct way to show her your love and support.

What’s next?

A dedicated team of cancer specialists in Sayre, Pennsylvania are treating Frankie’s condition as carefully and aggressively as possible. Having completed the taxing preliminary procedures, she is now beginning weekly Chemotherapy sessions. Unfortunately, it will take several months of this debilitating regimen for the Oncologist to determine whether or not it is effectively shrinking the tumors. In the meantime, family and friends will be by her side, supporting her every step of the way.

Thank You!

Anything you are able to give will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to Frankie’s medical and living expenses. She has been a guide, a shoulder, a helping-hand, and a friend to those who need it most, and now she needs our help!
Please share her story and continue to spread the love and positivity she has shared with so many.

Thank you for reading this! Your prayers, thoughts, and support could help make all the difference for her and the family during this difficult time.
