Lincoln's Quality of Life Fund

Donation protected
Lincoln is a 2 1/2 yr old little boy who was diagnosed at 8 months old with a catastrophic seizure disorder called Infantile spasms and that was just the start. Right after his 1st birthday, he was diagnosed with non-specific Mitochondrial Disease (Mito). There is no cure or treatment for Mito. More children lose their lives to Mito than all childhood cancers combined. Around the same time, Lincoln had stopped eating and was considered Failure-to-Thrive so he had to have surgery for a G tube placement. He is severely developmentally delayed and receives 8 therapy services each week. He has to take 6 medicines twice per day and is 100% tube fed. He does not walk/crawl nor does he speak/sign. He has been in the hospital more times than I care to count. He's had several EEGs, MRIs, biopsy, hearing tests, blood work, EKGs and the list goes on. Lincoln has seen almost every pediatric specialist that you can think of.

We are so grateful for the wonderful doctors, nurses, therapists, equipment and medications that have allowed our little boy to be the always smiling kid that he is. Of course all of that comes at a hefty price. While we are blessed to have health insurance to help, our out-of-pocket medical expenses have reached $6,000 already this year. That amount doesn't count the daily vitamins necessary for his energy production issues which are not covered by insurance and the expensive feeding equipment to ensure he receives the proper nutrition along with all of the time we've had to take off from work.
Through everything this little guy has to endure, he smiles and laughs and loves his big brother. As many parents can relate, it is hard to ask for help but we have come to that point. Easing the cost of his medical expenses would allow for us to spend more quality time with Lincoln and his brother, Luke. It would allow us to eventually save for a house instead of renting a small upstairs apartment that is not suited for a non-ambulatory toddler. It would provide him and our family with a better quality of Life. Any help that can be given will be greatly appreciated. And prayers for our little family are always accepted as well.
