English language version, for French language version please scroll down.  Introduction  June Givanni’s Pan African Cinema Archive (JGPACA) is a unique volunteer-run audio-visual archive that houses a significant collection of pan-African visual culture. The collection is founded on the life’s work of June Givanni, whose dedication and passion for the work and legacy of Black filmmakers has culminated in a extraordinary collection of more than 10,000+ items collected over a 35 year period. Services Provided In addition to the archive, we also do film screenings and exhibitions. Ces archives proviennent du monde entier et mettent en lumière les liens forts, aussi bien artistiques que politiques, àa travers le continent Africain et la Ddiaspora Africain.autour du Panafricanisme. La campagne de levée de fonds actuelle intervient dans une période où les archives indépendantes peinent à conserver leurs locaux ou bien sont absorbées par des institutions plus grandes. Dans un tel contexte, JGPACA a besoin de fonds pour préserver son indépendance, rendre le catalogue disponible sur Internet et d’ouvrir son accès aux acteurs de la recherche cinématographique et culturelle, de l’Histoire de l’Art ainsi qu’ aux  éeléements artistiques de cette domaine autour du du monde de Ccinéemaartistes du monde entier. Grâce à vos contributions vous pouvez nous aider à promouvoir et à encourager les travaux de réalisateurs Noirs africains,  Nnoirs britanniques, caribéens, américains ou originaires de l’ensemble de la diaspora africaine ; séecuriser les espaces de conservation des archivesleur donner l’un espace pour l’archive,  dédié et mettre à leur disposition des publics c(publique ?) des ressources culturelles et éducatives uniques. Ainsi, notre collection d’archives cinématographiques panafricaines, unique en son genre en Europe, vous invite à … ·      Découvrir ou rappeler  l’Histoire de Londres à travers les œuvres de réalisateurs britanniques pionniers avant-gardistes d’origine afro-caribéenne, tels que Lloyd Reckord, Horace Ove, Lionel Ngakane, entre autres. ·      Explorer les liens entre le cinéma, la littérature, l’activisme et les arts visuels et performatifs Noirs des années 1960, 1990 et jusqu’à nos jours. ·      Témoigner des événements qui ont pris une part significative à l’Histoire des peuples Noirs, ainsi, le Premier Festival d’Arts Nègres de Dakar en 1966 et les messages portés par des personnages illustres comme CLR James et Aimée Césaire … de manière à acquérir une compréhension plus approfondie de l’histoire et de la substance du mouvement Panafricain. ·      Entendre l’ardeur dans la voix de Rosalind Cash, interviewée par June Givanni lors du Festival cinématographique FESPACO en 1987 au sujet de ses ambitions et de son combat en tant qu’actrice Noire dans le Hollywood des années 1970 et 1980. Ou bien celle de Tracey Camilla Johns à Londres en 1986, dévoilant ses ambitions après son rôle dans Nola Darling n'en fait qu'à sa tête de Spike Lee. ·      Retrouver ( ?)le du cinéma tiers-mondiste à travers le « Third Cinema » et le festival « Third Eye: London’s Festival of Third Wworld Ccinema » de 1983. ·      Tomber sous le charme de la voix rocailleuse d’Harry Belafonte au festival du Film de la Havane de 1983, en l’écoutant parler de l’importance vitale des échanges culturels en période de Guerre froide. Nos Services En plus des archives, nous proposons également des projections et des expositions. Au cours des dernières années nous avons ainsi fait découvrir des œuvres de notre collection au public, participant ainsi à la promotion et à la reconnaissance de réalisateurs Noirs.   A titre d’exemple, nous avons préesentéer un serie des séeances ientituléeser permis au film Time is Now d’être projeté à l’occasion de l’exposition « The Place is Here » au Nottingham Contemporary, où toute une section entière était consacrée aux archives de June Givanni. Cette exposition a rencontré un largegrand succès auprès du public. Aujourd’hui, la collection fait face à une demande croissante de la part du grand public, de chercheurs, d’activistes culturels et de professionnels du milieu cinématographique, qui augmente.
