Early in the morning on December 29, 2014 a fire broke out in the Hoppe home. The home is usually filled with joyful laughter and music, where loving mom, Jenny, cares for her incredible 6 children.
The fire began in the basement where two of the kids were sleeping. Thankfully, both escaped with only minor medical needs. The basement, however is a total loss. The rest of the home has extensive smoke and water damage. The family cannot return home and is unable to remove ANY items from the home at this time due to possible asbestos found by fire officials.
The family is in need of everything you can imagine. It could take months before they can return home -- and it is possible that they could lose everything if the home does test positive for asbestos. They do have insurance which will help - but it does take time to be reimbursed. There is a need right now -- when they have been displaced from their home, and they have lost everything. We can help them. We can make a huge difference in this family!
Today I was at Target helping the family buy some simple basics. While there I found myself holding one of the most beautiful girls in the world in my arms as she wept. She was over come by the loss...the overwhelming loss. I was overwhelmed by her pain and knew I had to do more. So, I find myself asking friends and strangers to rally to help the Hoppe family. This is one of their worst moments...it can be one of our greatests...let's help them rebuild!

A Colorado Springs family was displaced after an overnight fire.
The fire was reported on Monday, around 1:30 a.m., in the 2000 block of N Circle Dr. Firefighters say it started in the basement of a home. They got the fire under control within an hour.
One adult, six children and family pets were not able to return to the home. A disaster team with the Pikes Peak Red Cross helped the family find temporary lodging."
