Matthew Ryan Senette
Dec. 21st, 1983- Feb. 13th, 2025
Born and raised in Louisiana, Matthew had a natural love for the outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the woods or casting a line in the water, he found his peace in nature. A longtime member of West Over Bayou Hunting Club, he cherished the camaraderie of his fellow sportsmen and the thrill of the chase.
Matthew spent 25 years in the oil and gas industry, working in production. His work ethic and dedication were unmatched, and he built lasting relationships with colleagues who became like brothers to him.
Matthew was proud of Senette’s Grocery Store, which was once a cherished part of his family’s history. Though it was later sold, the store remained in the family during Matthew’s childhood, and it held a special place in his heart. His father, Boyd, meant the world to him.
But above all, Matthew was a devoted father. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his beloved daughter, Lanie, at her dance recitals—he was her biggest fan, always cheering her on with pride. With his son, Nolan, he embraced the simple joys of childhood, crawling on the ground and playing dinosaurs, making memories that will forever be cherished.
Matthew leaves behind a legacy of laughter, friendship, and a life well-lived. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, his spirit forever hunting, fishing, and singing along to his favorite country tunes.
Fly high, Matthew. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.
As a mourning community of friends and family. We have come together to ask for your help for Matt's children, family and closest friends as we all try to find peace and strength in this hard time. If you are looking for a way to help, we are asking for donations to cover the remaining cost of his funeral arrangements, a final resting place and urn gifts to be made for his loved ones to remember him by. Afterwards any remaining funds will go directly to his children Lanie and Nolan Senette, to help lighten the burden that is to come over the next weeks and months during this hard time. Prayers are always needed and appreciated.
