Richard's Medical Fund

***UPDATE***

Many of you already know, and for those that don't, I apologize if this is how you are finding out. It is with unbelievable regret and sorrow that I have to say that Richard has passed. There were some unforeseen complications in the days following his surgery. This fund will now go toward covering his medical and funeral expenses. I am raising the goal amount to $10,000 in hopes of easing the burden left behind on his family. Again, thank you to all who donated, shared, and even just took the time to read this

We met the goal in under three days!!! A huge thank you to everyone, this is truly a testament to the kind of person that Richard is!

That goal number, however, was completely arbitrary, something I pulled out of thin air. Richard and his family will be burdened with a lot of debt after it is all said and done, and any additional donations will be greatly appreciated.

Now, on to Richard. He had his first surgery today, and the word is that things went well. He is resting and being monitored tonight, so I haven't had a chance to speak with him. More updates when I know more

Richard is now officially set up as the sole beneficiary for this account. He thanks everyone dearly for the donations and the kind words. His first surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning. Check back for further updates

Richard is one of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is my oldest friend. He is a wonderful son, and an incredible father. He's a loving brother. A hard worker. A generous and kind soul. Richard is the kind of person the rest of us should aspire to be more like.

He recently suffered through several strokes, which lead to the discovery of a rare condition known as Moyamoya Disease. He is scheduled for two upcoming surgeries to correct the bloodflow to his brain.

The coming months will see many challenges for Richard and his family, but the one that we can help him with is money. Anything helps, and even if you can't donate, just passing this along would do wonders.

Thank you
