First things first, before you read anymore about why I am raising money, just note that my cousin Alexandra, is the most beautiful, kind and amazing person I know.
SAVE THE DATE: September 13, 2014. Alexandra and Chris were counting the days until they were married! That was until earlier in the summer, Alexandra at age 26, about a month before her 27th birthday, was diagnosed with stage 3 T3N2 rectal cancer.
Alex had to cancel her wedding and start her battle with this awful disease. (Silver lining, she got married in a little square in Cambridge, to her best friend and looked absolutely stunning regardless...)
However, things quickly spiraled. After Alex's chemo/radiation, major surgery and the start of her second round of chemo - she has been in and out of the hospital. She was also told that because of the strength of the radiation and chemotherapy she would no longer be able to have a child when this is all over; she will need a surrogate.
She had to stop working at her job (Dana Farber, the irony) and needs our help. The help of people who love her, support her and want to gear up for this battle against cancer that we ALL can help her win.
All donations will go towards Alex's medical bills and any money after that will be used for a surrogate. If we raise more than that the money will be donated to cancer research in Alex's name.
