In honor of Jimin’s birthday, we have chosen to set up donations to the charity, MindLeaps to celebrate his love of dance and helping those who need it most.
MindLeaps is a fantastic organization that helps impoverished and at-risk youth learn important cognitive and work ready skills through dance based curriculum that provide academic acceleration courses, IT training and English classes.
They focus on seven skills: self esteem, team work, language, grit, discipline, memorization and creativity and help the youth in countries such as Rwanda, Guinea, Uganda and Kenya, apply these seven skills to academic and work place situations. Through the use of dance, MindLeaps has helped over 3,500 youth complete the MindLeaps program and has seen a 0% drop out rate for students in formal education and vocational training, proving just how powerful the use of dance can be in people’s lives.
