If you know lizzy and Tommy, you probably know that lizzy has had seizures for a long time, they basically come on out of nowhere.. at work, at home, at school... When she was younger it was about 3 times a week, now she is on seizure meds so it's less frequent. but this episode was different.. Tommy took lizzy to the Kingwood ER late Friday night. Lizzy felt really horrible, and after getting to the ER she started seizing.. They put her in a room and she would have seizures off and on every few hours. Tommy stayed by her side 24/7, but by Sunday night he had to leave her side to go take the babies car seat to family members that had the kids. While he was gone, Lizzys friends found her unconscious on the bathroom floor of her room. Liz had been issued a 24 hour nurse and apparently the nurse never came.. Long-story-short, she stopped breathing, nobody knows exactly how long she was alone on that floor, but she texted her friends for help before losing consciousness.. they had to get a crash cart out and she had to be put on LIFE SUPPORT where she remained for several days in ICU. (We didn't know what was going on, not even the doctors knew what was going on, I thought we were going to LOSE my little sister). So she was finally taken off the breathing machine on Wednesday, but she has continued to go in and out of seizures ever since then. She didn't get out of ICU until yesterday, now she's in immediate care. Her children got to see her for the first time in a week yesterday, but it was short lived because she went into a seizure after about 20 minutes of visiting. Tommy has made sure Liz wasn't left alone since then, he has been by her side or made sure someone else was all week.. he's been doing her bathing, shaving, eating, bathroom visits.. since coming off life support lizzy can't walk, her legs aren't currently functioning for her. She's still out of it when she is conscious.I only tell the whole story of what's going on to get the point across that Tommy hasn't been able to work all week, lizzy hasn't been able to work all week.. not by CHOICE. Lizzy can't control this, she did not put herself on life support on purpose.family members have been taking care of their kids for the week, tommys boss is being understanding but lizzy is STILL in the hospital, STILL having seizures, and Tommy (understandably) doesn't want Liz to have to be alone for too long. They are in need of help, they can't afford to have one out of work for a week or longer let alone both. They've been working on getting on their feet but when you're living pay check to check it's hard to deal with medical bills (at the very least) when you miss so much work. We've all been pay check to pay check, it's hard to come out of it when you're in the hospital every couple weeks or months having seizures.Tommy will be going back to work soon but it won't change their situation, they're in need of some financial HELP. ALL proceeds go straight to them. They're not looking to have all of their medical bills from the past 8 years of seizures paid off over night, they're just trying to get by for now. If you feel led to help in any way, I know they would really appreciate it. They are not that comfortable with the GoFundMe idea, but they are too prideful to ask for help when they REALLY need it.
