<div>In the past two weeks our very special and brave Jessie has been dealing with an unbelievable amount of pain and suffering and has received the most impossible and difficult diagnosis you could expect to hear in your mid thirties.

<div>First of all, I feel it's important to say that our Jessie is the most wonderful and amazing person you'll ever meet. She is a selfless, kind and caring soul. She's also the best mum, partner, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunty, niece and friend you could ever ask for.
</div>

<div>In early April, Jessie ended up back in hospital with severe pain in her lower left side of her abdomen. This happened off the back of at least 6-9 months of health complications and being in and out of hospital. The pain she was experiencing was excruciating and doctors quickly discovered a large cyst on her left ovary. After several days in agony, Jessie underwent emergency surgery to have the cyst removed. We all thought after a short recovery period that would be the end of it and hopefully life could return to normal for her as a busy mum of 4 living with her beautiful fiancé and kids.

<div>Unfortunately, around 10 days later, Jessie experienced more pain and unexpected bleeding so she returned to hospital where doctors repeated the ultrasound and discovered another mass on her ovary that appeared like another cyst. At this point she was admitted to hospital due to the pain. A few days later, Jessie was visited by her doctor who explained to her the most devastating news you could expect to hear.

<div>Jessie had been told results from the surgery for the cyst had come back and that there were two types of cancer cells found within the cyst that was removed.
</div>
<div>The cancer cells that were detected have now been formally diagnosed as mucinous adenocarcinoma and anaplastic carcinoma of the ovaries.

<div>The doctors have told Jessie that these cancers are both incredibly rare and there is limited known about the treatment and what the journey will look like for her overall. However, we are remaining positive and hopeful that Jessie can beat this thing and get back to living a full and happy life.
</div>

<div>At this stage, we are still awaiting formal staging of the cancer. This will happen once she has the last few tests completed this week and after surgery is done next week.
</div>

<div>Jessie has been told by her oncologist and gynaecology team to start with she will have to have a total hysterectomy next week, followed by 18 weeks of intense chemotherapy following a short recovery period from the surgery.
</div>

<div>As you can imagine, this is going to be a long road to a hopeful recovery. Jessie has already been unable to work over the last several months due to her health and unfortunately it doesn't look like she will be able to return for quite some months. On top of this, her partner has had to take time off work to look after the kids and Jessie and this is only expected to continue while Jessie has her treatment.

<div>We are seeking any help that anyone can give no matter how big or small the amount to help Jessie and her family meet general day to day expenses while both her and her partner are unable to work/work as much as usual. On top of this, travel expenses driving to and from the hospital, car parking, and everyday expenses involved in managing a serious health condition in and out of hospital will begin to add up.

<div>P.s in the coming weeks, Jessie is planning on getting her family together to help her with easing the distress of losing her hair. Jessie has long beautiful dreadlocks she's dreamed of having for as long as she can remember and now unfortunately due to chemotherapy she won't be able to keep them. Jessie has decided to take back her power and control surrounding this and involve her family. Each family member is going to cut a dreadlock for her, and then the rest of her hair will be shaved off. Jessie plans to share this on her Facebook page, so be sure to keep an eye out for that.
