Jessie Battles Stage 4 Cancer

Donation protected

When this page was first started, Jessie Vasquez was a 43 year old mother of six wonderful children and wife of an adoring husband. Jessie was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer, (Synovial Sarcoma), just after giving birth to her youngest child. Jessie endured months of radiation and other treatments followed by an eight hour surgery to remove the cancer from her right knee. After six months of rehabilitation and recovery and about two years of love filled cancer free life, Jessie and her family of 8 learned her cancer had returned, this time in the form of four spots within both lungs. Jessie has endured multiple surgeries to her lungs in the hope of removing this cancer from her life. Prior to her surgery one Oncologist provided a grim 24 month life expectancy. Jessie's medical care providers have offered little to no alternative treatments. Requests for second opinions to UCSD and other reputable local hospitals have been denied. As Jessie seeks out options such as "Immuno Therapy" and "Genome Therapy" and her Health Care provider continues to deny her referrals for these ground breaking treatments, Jessie has gotten the impression from her health care providers that they just expect her to accept the "inevitable". Anyone who knows Jessie personally knows that this spit fire of a woman has no intention to roll over and accept the "inevitable". But she needs help. Out of insurance coverage health care consults, visits, travel and treatments are expensive. As the wife of A San Diego Deputy Sheriff she has received assistance and support from the San Diego County Deputy Sheriff's Association as well from many of the wonderful Deputies and families within the Rural Law Enforcement Community in San Diego County.

Unfortunately, we fell short of our goal. By the Grace of God we were able to combine the monies raised with GO FUND ME with generous financial gifts and donations from Dixie Vasquez, Larry Ross, Iluminado and Maria Delgado, The Ballard Family, The San Diego County Deputy Sheriff’s Association and The Christian Church of Lemon Grove and countless others allowed us to reach our goal and travel to Frankfurt Germany.

Jessie was immersed in a month long regimen that included Jessie getting poked, prodded and receiving several different treatments. Some of these treatments were intravenous infusions of Immuno Acids, DCA & Intracell, and Vitamin C & B17. She also got Ozone Therapy where they infuse your blood with oxygen. The blood comes out of the body a dark red & once infused is returned a bright red. With higher levels of oxygen in the tissue- bacteria, viruses & defective tissue cells are killed. Healthy cells are stimulated and multiply more quickly. She's also had Hyperthermia sessions and Infra-red light therapy.

When Jessie arrived in Germany she was wheelchair bound and in constant pain. Within a week of these treatments Jessie was walking and feeling great! We returned home to California in September of 2018 with a renewed sense of optimism and faith. In April of 2019, we learned the cancer in Jessie’s right leg had returned. Jessie’s lungs appeared to be doing well but the cancer in her leg eventually required amputation. Having a limb amputated is both painful beyond explanation and takes a significant toll on a person’s mental health and wellbeing. It required months of healing and rehabilitation. Jessie persevered and was able to host Thanksgiving, that was her stated goal after the surgery. As Jessie gained mastery of her prosthetic leg, she yearned for a sense of normalcy in our lives. Jessie planned our first vacation in almost a decade. Jessie our six children and I took a trip to Puerto Rico in February of 2020.

As fate would have it, February of 2020 ended up being marred by a world wide pandemic, COVID-19. Most of our vacation took place under lock down and like the rest of the world, the ramifications of this pandemic negatively affected our entire year. September of 2020 brought news of potential reoccurrences of cancer in both Jessie’s lungs and her residual limb. Testing and biopsies were conducted in October and November. Once again the treatment options afforded to my wife that are covered by our insurance are limited. As I write this, Jessie is in the hospital recovering from a procedure to try and stop bleeding in her left lung. We have reached out to the same medical team we worked with in Germany, however Covid-19 travel restrictions make that an untenable destination. We are researching options in the United States and Mexico but once again we find ourselves woefully short on the necessary funds to take part in these treatment programs. Jessie is now 45 years old, still has six mostly wonderful kids and an adoring albeit heavier set husband. She is strong in mind, body and soul. She believes that the best quality of life can be achieved through treatments at The Oasis of Hope in Mexico and through taking part in infusion therapies and a diet regimen available to her through a clinic in California. None of these options are covered by our insurance. In order to take part in these treatment programs we will need to raise between $45,000 and $55,000 dollars. First, thank you for taking the time to read this lengthy post. If after reading this, you find yourself in a position to help in any way, PLEASE ACCEPT MY MOST SINCERE THANKS AND APPRECIATION. If you have read this far and cannot assist with a donation, I thank you for your time and ask that you pray for my wife and share this Go Fund Me page with others that may be able to offer prayer or donations for Jessie. Apologies for how wordy this post got, but I find it difficult to edit myself in this state panic and urgency as my wife battles this cancer. God Bless You!
