Buy Fertilizer Spreader for Jessica's Organic Farm

Who we are:
Jessica’s Organic Farm is one of the original organic growers in Florida.  We have been providing local, 100% organic food to the Sarasota-Bradenton area since 1979.  The freshness and quality of the produce is well known and can't be beat.  Foodies, health-professionals, and people from all walks of life have come to depend on our fresh-cut lettuces, greens, sprouts and root vegetables.

What we do:
In the past, we've donated large quantites of fresh produce to All Faiths Food Bank (about 50,000 lbs per year). We've supported gardening programs for kids, and have given away an estimated 170,000 starter plants to local schools. This past spring and summer, when the Covid-19 pandemic started, we worked with the non-profit Second Chance Last Opportunity and distributed fresh food to 400 Newtown families each week.  We also started supporting a number of needy households directly, through pickup and delivery orders via our new online store. We currently donate to a group of students and young people involved in community outreach with the homeless, and to a neighborhood mutual aid group.

Why now:
We're asking for your help because we urgently need a new fertilizer spreader. Our current one is 10 years old, and has completely rusted through in several places, making it all but useless. There's simply no way to grow all the beautiful, delicious and nutritious Jessica's produce people love if we can't efficiently fertilize the naturally sandy Florida soil. With your help, we're trying to pay for a new, "Groundbuster 5000 DX" which is a half-ton, heavy-duty piece of equipment. It's almost completely welded, and the metal is specially treated, so it's guaranteed to last us a very long time. We found a great deal for $3,500, which  covers the full cost of the spreader, warranty, and freight. With your help, we need to raise this money ASAP

What it means:
We would be immensely grateful, as would all of our employees, and everyone who directly or indirectly depends on our fresh, organic produce. There are less than 50 certified organic farms in all of Florida, and only a handful in the Tampa Bay Area. Jessica's Organic Farm is a community resource, and a "hidden gem" of Sarasota. We have been struggling financially and need your help to continue operating.

What to do:
Please donate if you can, and spread the word - share on social media, let your friends and family know. Sincere thanks!
