Story:
Jessica Wright is a veteran of the US Navy and entitled to VA education benefits from her service - as long as she takes a class in person.
Hurricane Harvey closed her campus for the semester and they moved all her courses online. As a result, the VA will not be providing her full education benefits and she will be without $6000 in support this Fall Semester.
Without staying enrolled, she is forced out of the dental hygiene program at Lonestar College in Kingwood. All her courses are part of the dental hygiene program, but will only be online this semester. She is stuck in this place of forced enrollement without support from the VA for the rest of the year.
Jessica Wright is my only sibling, out of 6, to finish high school. She is a fantastic mom and has worked so hard to get to where she is now. But her success is fragile without the support of a good family. I think she needs our help now to stay in school and make it through the recovery from Harvey.
