My sister Jessie is a mother of 3 girls, a nurse, and a hobby farmer. She has saved lives, cared for, and healed, countless people in her professional life for 14 years. She raises her daughters on her small farm setting an example of drive and determination. She teaches them how to grow crops, repair things, nurture animals, and enjoy the simple things in life. She focuses on teaching them strength and independence and breaking down gender stereotypes. Her two oldest daughters want to be engineers when they grow up.
Despite living a healthy lifestyle, my sister was recently diagnosed with a rare form of ovarian cancer that may be the result of chemical exposure that occurred while living on a military base in South Carolina.
Her cancer is late stage with poor prognosis and high rate of recurrence. After her initial 18 weeks of chemotherapy she still faces 2 years of testing and most likely more chemo before she can be considered in remission.
I have established this gofundme in order to help cover the cost of the piling medical bills, transportation to her treatments and appointments (which is a 5 hour round trip each time), and to help supplement her income which is significantly decreased being she has been unable to work due to the chemotherapy and her subsequent immunocompromised state.
