Apoyemos a nuestra hermana Jessica Marjane, infinita, luminosa, referente histórico del movimiento trans latinoaméricano, para que pueda continuar su trabajo de acompañamiento a víctimas, asesoría legal, pedagogía, y transformaciones colectivas a través del derecho en el contexto de México, uno de los países con mayor número de transfeminicidios a nivel global. Jessica es abogada, feminista, activista antirracista, es fundadora de la Red de Juventudes Trans de México. Ha realizado un trabajo profundo en las instituciones jurídicas en búsqueda de justicia para la comunidad trans en México. Ha acompañado a compas migrantes, facilitando sus condiciones en su tránsito por este país. Fue vocal indispensable en la lucha por la aprobación de la Ley de Identidad de Género en el 2015, y la Ley de Infancias Trans.

 

Jessica fue diagnosticada con hernias inguinales hace más de 5 años. Ha sobrevivido con un dolor crónico, mientras sistema de salud público mexicano niega y patologiza su cuerpo constantemente. Como consecuencia de la violencia médica sistemática, su salud se ha debilitado y su condición médica ha empeorado, por lo que es necesario realizarle una intervención quirúrgica de urgencia. Debido a lo crítico de su condición necesitamos que ella pueda atenderse en el sector privado de manera inmediata.

 

La Red de Juventudes Trans hace un llamado a todxs que puedan apoyar económicamente, difundiendo en redes sociales y con quienes puedan hacer una contribución económica. Se necesita recaudar 10,000 dólares, para pagar los costos de la operación, los medicamentos y el proceso de recuperación.

Let us support our sister Jessica Marjane-- infinite, luminous and central to the trans movement in latin america! Jessica is a lawyer, a feminist, an anti-racist activist and founder of the Red de Juventudes Trans de México (Network of Trans Youth of México). She does so much- accompanying survivors, offering legal advice and working toward long term transformation in México, a country with one of the highest number of transfeminicides globally. She does in-depth work within legal institutions, demanding justice for trans people and has also accompanied many migrant compas in their journey across Mexico. She was also indispensable in the fight for the Gender Identity Law in 2015 and the Trans Childhood Law in Mexico.

 

Jessica was diagnosed with inguinal hernias more than 5 years ago. These hernias are incredibly painful! The Mexican public health system has consistently pathologized Jessica’s body and denied her excruciating chronic pain due to their transphobia. As a result of this systematic medical violence, her health has deteriorated and her medical condition has worsened, necessitating emergency surgery. Due to the critical nature of her condition, she needs access to private sector medical care immediately which unfortunately is more expensive.

The Trans Youth Network calls on all of us to support- either by donating, spreading the word on social media or within our extended networks. We need to raise $ 10,000 to pay for the costs of the operation, the medications, and the recovery process.
