Jesse Roman's Road to Recovery

Our oldest son, Jesse, was in a life altering car accident. His truck likely hydroplaned and went off the road and rolled several times down into a ravine. The roof of the truck had to be taken off to rescue him. His seatbelt was on and no other cars, drugs or alcohol were involved.
Jesse is now in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit. He sustained major damage to his head and face and has suffered a serious brain injury (Diffuse Axonal Injury). He fractured his orbital bones and both temporal bones. He also sustained multiple facial fractures. His head took most of the impact when the truck rolled. He has a minor puncture in one lung and a few broken ribs. The doctors drilled a hole in his head and inserted a tube to allow the brain fluid to drain, so the swelling can go down. He is semi-sedated and intubated at this time.
The biggest long-term risk is permanent brain damage. Please join us, and our family and friends in prayer that our God protects and heals him from this. We need your help with Jesse’s road to recovery.
During the first day in ICU, he was unresponsive to commands. He has been making little improvements as the days go by. Within the first week, he was able to respond to commands from the medical staff (moving a foot, fingers). He even opened his eyes and gave a thumb up. Jesse is such a fighter!
Jesse is the oldest of 4 boys and has been such a loving and loyal big brother his entire life. He had just taken his ASVAB test to fulfill his dream of serving our country in the Navy. His little brothers are worried, we are worried, but we know God is with us.
The doctors have been helping us prepare for the long road ahead. Thankfully, Jesse has health insurance, but with this type injury, the medical bills, rehab and additional expenses which are not covered could cost $200,000 or more. His care will be long term. This impending reality makes things much harder since we only want to focus on Jesse and his healing. But the last thing we want is to have his recovery held back by finances.
