Jess Rausch's Aneurysm Fight
Donation protected
Jess Rausch is a fun and spunky CrossFit athlete from Granite City CrossFit who just so happens to have Cerebral Palsy. That doesn't stop her from living her best life! She may have limited use of her right hand but she is one of the most loyal and hardest working athletes we know.
On the evening of 11/5/20, she came to the box to workout but mentioned to a fellow member that she felt like her leg was asleep. She finished the Workout of the Day then decided to get a little extra in. She started to get dizzy when jumping rope. She had to lay down immediately. After a while her mother was called and she was transported to the ER.
After not responding to fluids like anticipated, the medical staff started looking into meningitis or a stroke. Her mother suspected neurological symptoms.
This morning we received word that the neurosurgeon said Jess has an aneurysm in the same spot as where they saw the neuro deficit when she was 9 months old. It is no longer bleeding, still concerned about the pressure but are monitoring it closely. The stroke doctor will most likely do a procedure up through her groin and see if they can get more data. It may be something they can fix that way or it may need surgery to fix.
Jess just started a new job on the Monday that week. Her former employer, Stearns Bank, is authorizing Jess's mother to sign her up for COBRA but it sounds like she may still have a significant amount she may need to pay for.
We gracefully and gratefully accept any contribution you can offer.
No minimum amount.
If possible, we'd like to have funds collected by 12/12/20.
If you are interested in contributing in other ways, please reach out to us.
We appreciate all prayers and well wishes.
We will continue to pray for Jess!
