Jess & Dale’s sweet baby Everhett

As most of you know, Jessica and Dale announced they were expecting their first baby November 28th and Jess’ pregnancy had been pretty flawless. It was almost unbelievable how amazing she looked and felt!
Jessica and Dale entered CGH at 28 weeks for testing after Jess mentioned a random sharp pain below her sternum. Along with high blood pressure, her lab showed low platelet count and liver enzymes present in her blood.
She was transferred via ambulance to Women's Hospital in Vancouver on September 11th and was soon diagnosed with HELLP Syndrome. This is a very rare and serious condition that if left untreated, is life threatening to both the mom and baby. The short-term goal was to keep the baby in as long as possible while managing the risks.
Dale and Jess began living hour by hour with the highest level of care at Women’s; however, her pain returned on the evening of the 14th and her blood pressure was elevated despite medication.

The past week has been a rollercoaster for Jess and Dale and there is still a bit of a trek ahead for baby Rhett. They 100% need support from their friends and family! I think visits will come eventually but for now we can support them with a donation toward their journey... because, well, a typical home cooked meal delivery isn’t really a reality at this point.
What we raise can help cover the costs of meals, mileage, and wages as Children’s NICU will be their home for the next while.
All I can say is....
This is one strong little family!!!
