Jesiah runs the London Mini Marathon for Kidcare!

My son Jesiah has decided to take part in the London Mini Marathon on Saturday 20th April to raise £1000 for Kidcare International!

Jesiah visited the Shiloh Kidcare Centre in Ghana in 2019 on his first ever trip to Ghana, Africa. When he visited this project he spent time playing, talking, eating and learning with the children in this centre. Watching my son spend time with these amazing children (some orphans and others from extremely disadvantaged families) I realised that any of these kids could have been Jesiah had he been born into a different situation and they all deserve support to get the best chance at life that he has.

This school is for impoverished families squatting in unfinished homes and living in poor conditions in Gbetsile on the outskirts of the Tema District in Ghana. Some of the children are orphans. Guardians of the children who attend this school have very little income and sometimes a meal a day is a problem for the children.

As a result of the poverty these children start begging and are vulnerable to various abuse at a very early age. Kidcare is currently looking after 120 of these children at the School. Due to the expanding number of children in need, Kidcare has extended the school premises by erecting 3 wooden structures as classrooms. Your support will enable us to finish the setting up of these classrooms; install electricity and ceiling fans in all these rooms; playground equipment and much needed academic resources.
