Jerry's Wheelchair Fund

I was a strong, hard working man all my life but my life took a major turn when I was 51.   I developed 5 tumors inside my spinal column.  They can't be operated on as, the type of tumor they are, they bleed profusely and surgeons say I would bleed out in seconds and thus give me only about 10% chance of survival.  The last few years the tumors have grown and now squeeze the spinal column causing a huge amount of pain and make standing and walking pretty much impossible.  We bought a used power wheelchair so I could have some independence again and it was great!  Unfortunately, nothing lasts and that chair needs very expensive repairs (to the tune of about $2200) and that would only take care of immediate needs; would still need new tires, controller, etc later on.  It seems silly to me to put  50% of the cost of a new chair into the repair of an old one.  Without the chair I'm pretty much a prisoner in my own apartment.  I can get around with the combination of a walker and a manual wheechair but chair is also broken and can't be used outdoors.  With the chair, I'm able to go to my Dr appointments, food shop, do banking etc on my own.  Using a power wheelchair is the only way I can leave the apartment of my own; the only way I can get outside at all and do it independently (very important to me since my wife is now sick and unable to push me around).   10 years ago my wife and I were happy, average working people but now we're both on disability, unable to work, can't drive and the use of a power wheelchair is the only way we can get out and do some things for ourselves.  If anyone can help, your assistance would mean the world to us both and I would like to thank everyone who thinks about helping, whether or not you are financially able to.  This is the chair I'm hoping for.  Regular price of this chair 5200 plus taxes.
