Jerry's NYC College Fund

Hi! My name is Cheyenne Banks, or as my friends and family call me, Jerry.  I just graduated from Springfield High School & plan on attending Marymount Manhattan College in New York City. But that's where you come in. As a young gay black man in America, it's just common knowledge that I (along with countless other youth of color across the country) haven't always been afforded the same opportunities as some of my peers.

One thing that many people don't know about me is that I am a former foster kid. I was removed from my home around the age of 4 because of a violent living situation and went through about 5 foster homes before moving from Decatur, Illinois, I moved to Springfield at the age of 7. When I moved to Springfield I was placed with who would 4 years later become my mother.

I can spare you the nitty gritty of my less than ideal childhood but thanks to lots of determination and good will I graduated high school and got accepted into my top choice for school. That being said living in New York City alone is expensive but adding college on top of that probably isn't going to make it any easier. I'm going to be double majoring in Digital Media and Audio Production & Public Relations and Strategic Communications.

I plan on getting a job to support myself while living in the big apple but I'm still going to need a lot of help.

The money that you donate to my campaign will be used for a plethora of things such as (but not limited to):
- Software (Photoshop, Final Cut Pro X, Logic Pro X)
- Plane ticket to NYC
- Health Insurance for college
- Dorm necessities
- Textbooks
- Laptop Accessories
- School Fees

- Camera Equipment
