Jerry's Story

In June of 2016 my brother Jerry was diagnosed with stage 3 thyroid cancer. Jerry has 2 daughters, Brooke who is 16 and Selena who is 4, they reside in Billings Montana. Jerry is a single father. Jerry had life saving surgery in 2016 to remove his thyroid, numerous tumors under his collarbone and 136 lymph nodes. The surgery left him with significant muscle and nerve damage not allowing him to return to work. Our family has been gathering money monthly to help them but unfortunately it is not enough to cover their financial needs. In 2017 the cancer returned and he needed another surgery where they removed more tumors under his collarbone, more lymph nodes and 3 para thyroid glands leaving him with only 1 para thyroid gland. As a result of having only 1 para thyroid gland, he is in the emergency room quite frequently for calcium infusions which take 5 to 6 hours each time. With his little Selena by his side they are fighting this ugly monster together. Jerry was able to return to work for a brief 8 weeks at the beginning of this year working a mere 12 hours a week, which was still a blessing to him and his daughters, as that is all his Drs would allow. Unfortunately, In February of this year, the Drs reported that the cancer has yet again, returned but this time it is very close to his voice box and has spread to more of his lymph nodes. He is scheduled to have another surgery on March 7, 2018. this is a very dangerous procedure because of the location of the cancer. Our family is flying out from Colorado & California to be with him and care for him after the surgery, as they have no family that lives in Montana. His last day of work will be March 2, 2018. Jerry has applied for disability and been denied 3 times. But he is not giving up. They have been without regular income for 2 years now and are in danger of losing their mobile home. Any money raised will go directly to pay their mortgage, and buy groceries. We are asking for your prayers and financial help. There is no gift too small, anything will be greatly appreciated.  Matthew 18: 19-20 "If two of you agree on earth concerning anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or more are gathered in my name I am there in the midst of them."  2 Corinthians 9: 7 " So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver."
