We're organizing this because we take care of our own, and Jerry Renauer is just that.
Over the years we run into people that have positive impacts not just on us in a professional way, but in a very personal way. For myself and a lot of others, Jerry Renauer has established himself as the right kind of person to have in your life. Quick with a joke or offer guidance and wisdom in a complex world, Jerry has been a calm eye to the storm, helping us all through our own, personal trials.
More than anything, Jerry is proud of his family. On a daily basis Jerry provides us with updates not just on big things he was excited about for his family such as weddings and grandchildren, but also of simple things that make him feel whole, like being able to sit around at home when his family visits and enjoy their company. His family is the most important thing to him. Period.
For those of us fortunate enough to work with Jerry, we understand how fortunate we've been to experience him on a daily basis. He has been a font of knowledge in more ways than we can count, a more positive role model than we could expect, and a friend better than any of us could ask. Jerry is proud of his work in the truck business. He's proud of the products and programs he has helped develop. Most importantly though, Jerry was proud of the people he met. For a long time, Jerry was the one-stop-shop for heavy truck knowledge at Ford. He's worked with customers, dealers, upfitters, suppliers, and a dearth of others.
When others need help, Jerry is there for them.
Well, we're at a point in time when Jerry needs the help. And we're going to be there for him.
For the past few years Jerry has been battling cancer. Admirably, he's fended it off a number of times and throughout has remained a steadfast friend and family member.
To put things very simply, Jerry's situation has recently taken a turn. He is currently in palliative care hospice at Beaumont in Royal Oak.
Due to chance and circumstance, there is a need and an opportunity to help Jerry and his family financially in this extremely sensitive and personal time.
To that point, we are putting out the call to anyone who knows Jerry. Our goal is to help fund any end of life expenses for Jerry at the least. Any remaining funds we gather will go directly to his wife, Liz, as she progresses through a very difficult time.
