Jerry Logan - Tennis Court & Ball Field Rebuild

Donation protected
The Carthage Park District is raising money to renovate our park facilities in memory of Jerry Logan. Jerry Logan was a member of our community and played a role in many people's lives. He was a husband, a father, a teacher, but what he may have been most known for was being a coach.

From his obituary, "He taught generations of girls how to win the game of basketball and how to win at the game of life. " cont. "A member of the Illinois High School Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame, he was responsible for helping lead 2 teams to State Championships and 6 others to state tournament appearances." Logan believed in teaching the parallels between life on and off the court which included work hard, be a good teammate and be selfless. Logan had many wins to his name, but what he valued most were the relationships formed along the way. "He loved his Bluegirls and they loved him."

The planned park renovations are:

-New tennis courts and basketball courts
-New pickleball courts
-Improved court and ball diamond parking
-New lighting controls
-Flip and rebuild middle baseball diamond

We are also hosting a Dinner, Auction and Trivia night at the Lake Hill Winery on Saturday, January 25th, 2020. For more information visit http://www.carthageparkdistrict.org/
