Jerry Garcia - Leukemia Warrior
My father, Jerry Garcia, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in May of 2017. Despite the countless burdens that came along with the chemotherapy and cancer, my father remained steadfast in his faith, hope, love and positive mindset until his final moments.
My father was a kind-hearted, level-headed and full of life man. He was a Jack-of-All trades. He was a man of God, a family man, an exceptional bowler, singer/musician, artist, car lover, handyman, hard worker, adventurer, lover of the outdoors, jokester, husband, brother, father and friend. It was a rare moment if you ever found him NOT singing karaoke, polishing his bowling ball, working on house projects, having a cup of coffee with my mother and cracking jokes/telling stories with my brothers and I.
Although my father has recently passed in his battle with cancer on October 4th, 2018, his love and selflessness will continue to flourish throughout our family and friends. His actions and character have positively impacted the lives of those around him. He treated all those he encountered with respect and continually put others before himself. He was an angel to walk this Earth as he always lent a helping hand to those in need.
To further honor his name and legacy, our family is asking for financial assistance to provide him with a proper burial and funeral service by October 26, 2018. If you'd like to donate please feel free to, we would greatly appreciate it! If not, please send good energy, prayers and support for my family during this time, it is extremely welcomed. Much love and God Bless. Thank you.
