<div>We are Nicolas Bouguet and Alexandre Laurent, friends of Abu Saleh and the Alalem family, hosts of the indispensable Jericho Sami Hostel.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Abu Saleh and his family have been welcoming tourists from all over the world and Palestinian residents to their hostel in the heart of the Aqbat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho for many years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This place encourages rich and fundamental encounters between locals and foreigners, as well as supporting a vulnerable local economy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During several trips to the occupied West Bank - Palestine, we have been able to gauge the situation of oppression, discrimination, land grabbing and aggression against Palestinian citizens by the occupying army and settlers, which has been denounced for decades by the UN and many international human rights organisations.
</div>
<div>The situation is particularly tense in the agricultural and pastoral territories around Jericho, along with the fertile Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. The following brief description (which I hope you are already familiar with) should help us to better understand the importance of helping the Alalem family to maintain their facility and hospitality activity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since the start of the historic aggression in Gaza more than a year ago, settler violence has become increasingly intense and has been encouraged by the army and the occupation government at the service of the Zionist colonial project.
</div>
<div>Arbitrary arrests, attacks and murders of families, residents and shepherds, the theft of land, herds and houses, have multiplied.
</div>
<div>The number of checkpoints set up around villages and towns has exploded, making travel extremely difficult and, above all, the supply of vital goods (food, medicines, etc.) very uncertain.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This tightening of the blockade on the occupied territories, like Gaza, is preventing Palestinians from working and earning money, and foodstuffs are becoming increasingly rare and expensive.
</div>
<div>Tourism, which has always been of fundamental importance in Palestine because of the economic activity it fosters, has been reduced to nothing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We believe that it is therefore absolutely essential to help our friends in the Alalem family to meet their personal and professional needs, to maintain this place of welcome and intercultural encounters in the middle of the Aqbat Jaber refugee camp in Jericho, to support local Palestinian economic independence, and to ensure that the world discovers and learns about the terrible realities of aggressive Zionist colonisation in Palestine, a historic land of welcome, tolerance, joy and resilience, a social paradise in a context of infernal aggression.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The funds raised will be transfered to the family's account from a friend's account in Europe (only way to open a campain), to enable them to provide for the subsistence needs of their members and those of their acquaintances who need it, to continue to finance the instalments relating to their activity and the upkeep of the hostel, in the hope that justice will be done under international law and that normal life will resume as soon as possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We would like to thank you very much for your support, whether occasional or regular, and for your commitment to the good cause.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Here's how you can make a difference:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
