Hope and Help for Jeremy

Donation protected
What Happened: On November 12th, Jeremy, who is only 40 years old, started to experience some right sided weakness and overall not feeling well. As he is right handed, and continued to drop things, Jeremy thought he may be having a heart attack and called 911. The ambulance arrived promptly, yet by then he was paralyzed on his right side and unable to communicate. He was taken to the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis. He received a vascular CT scan and MRI, and it was determined Jeremy was suffering from a stroke. One of the two clots in his brain was successfully removed that same night. However, we now know permanent damage has been done to the left side of Jeremy's brain, which controls the right side of his body (still in complete paralysis), his speech (he may never be able to talk again), and his personality. Jeremy currently has a feeding tube in place and is receiving occupational therapy. Unfortunately, the swelling in his brain is not getting any better. The swelling is currently rated at a 3.5 and if it reaches a 6, he will need surgery to remove a part of his skull to help relieve the swelling and pressure. Prior to the stroke, Jeremy was placed on medical leave from his employer and was referred to Mayo Clinic-Rochester to have a heart failure work up. Jeremy has many tests, potential surgeries, occupational therapy, time in the hospital, and continued care coming his way on a long and tough road of rehabilitation, recovery and essentially a different way of life.
A little about Jeremy: Jeremy is 40 years and works as an electrician. He is from Rochester, MN and has been living in Forest Lake for his job. He has two children, Ethan (10) and Adyson (6), who are the complete joys of his life. He loves spending time with his children, girlfriend (Carling and her daughters), and the rest of his family and friends. Jeremy has a love for sports, music, family, and fishing. He enjoys the Minnesota Twins and helping coach his son’s baseball teams. He also enjoys the St. Louis Blues hockey and Dallas Cowboys football, despite most of his family being avid Viking fans. He loves to be out on the water boating and fishing whenever he can. Jeremy also has a love for music and watching bands/concerts when he can. And of course, Jeremy loves to joke around and have a good time with everyone.
How the funds raised will go to helping Jeremy: Most of the money raised here will be going to assist in the medical bills already accumulated from this horrible event, along with the medical expenses that are to come in the rehab process he now faces. As stated before, this could include a prolonged time in the hospital, more surgeries and tests, rehab, and continued care as he and his loved ones learn to live in his new world. The fact he will never be able to talk again is hard to process for him and his loved ones. The full extent of damage caused by the stroke and chronic clotting is yet to be determined. Jeremy is much loved and cared for by his children, girlfriend, family, and friends, and all we want is to help in any way we possibly can. Some of the funds raised will also go towards other bills, hotels, gas, food, etc. for his children and family as they make their commutes from all over to be there for Jeremy and each other during this extremely tough and life changing time. This family has been through an unnecessarily hard time over the last few years with the loss of Jeremy's dad and now Jeremy's stroke. We all may not be able to help with the medical and rehab parts of all this, but any amount of donation will help immensely in trying to ease the financial burden for Jeremy and his family. And, as always, all the prayers you can send Jeremy's way are also appreciated. Thank you for your continued hope and help for Jeremy.
