Jeremein Sandoval Recovery Fund

Jeremein was seriously injured while co-driving at the Mint 400 race in Las Vegas, NV. The truck he was riding in crashed during time trials, flipped and rolled several times before bursting into flames. He was flown to UMC Trauma Center in Las Vegas and rushed into emergency surgery. Jeremein was badly burned over 30% of his body and he inhaled a lot of smoke and soot during the accident, which caused damage to his lungs. He is currently in the ICU at the UMC Burn Care Unit.  He has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He is on a ventilator to help heal his lungs from the smoke inhalation and has already had 1 surgery. His dr's think he will need several more before being released from the hospital. His dr's estimate he will be in the hospital between 1-4 months before he can go home. He will also need physical therapy and could possibly need additional surgeries once the full extent of his injury can be assessed. His wife, daughter, and mother have driven from Grand Junction, CO to be by his side in the ICU. His wife will need to take a leave of absence from her job as as preschool teacher to be by his side while he recovers in the hospital, leaving their daughter in the care of family members. Jeremein served his country for 12 years, serving as F-16 Crew Chief in both the Air Force and Air National Guard. He also did 1 tour in Iraq in 2007.  Jeremein will not be able to work for months, possibly longer and will have mounting medical bills stemming from this accident. The money raised will help support Jeremein's wife and daughter while he recovers and to the medical bills he incurs through recovery.
