Join Jensen's Village - Leukemia

Donation protected
They say "it takes a village to raise a child" and right now, Jensen needs a village to help us get through this fight against Leukemia and back to wellness. This single mom needs a village.

She was usually so energetic: loving to run in the park (in perfect jogger's form, LOL) and play with her twin sister Lauren, and older sister, Mila.

Towards the end of the summer, Jensen grew increasingly tired, cranky and just generally not herself.  She had just started pre-kindergarten, and I figured it was the fact that she wasn't getting her usual 2.5 hour nap that she was used to when she was home with mommy.

But soon, she grew increasingly – shockingly – pale, and even started to walk with a limp. This was NOT normal. We went back to the doctor who ran blood tests and upon viewing the results, immediately sent Jensen to the ER at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. After several hours, the diagnosis was: "Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia."

Jensen has been undergoing treatment since September and, at times, been unable to attend pre-k with her sister. As a graphic designer, I do have a couple freelance clients that I work with, but have had to supplement that limited income by driving for Lyft and Uber during the day because those platforms allow me to work around our erratic schedule (which is also causing a lot of wear and tear on our car).

Jensen's all-day appointments vary from bi-weekly, to every ten days, to emergency visits that can happen, literally, at any time day or night, at which point, I have to wait for family to arrive – or hire a sitter for her siblings – before she and I rush off to the ER for several hours, and sometimes a day or two. And she is usually out of school for some time afterwards. Having said that, earning a living is a challenge.

Jensen will enter a "more intense" phase of chemotherapy in the coming months, and I imagine she will once again need around-the-clock care and not feel well enough to go to school with her sister.

I really hate to admit it, but we need your support. Any donated funds will go towards day-to-day expenses (yay, gas and electricity!), dependable transportation (my family-sized SUV needs maintenance and I may need to downsize for something more economic for ridesharing work), and unforeseen medical bills for the scheduled 2.5 year treatment plan.

No donation is too small and even if you can't donate, PLEASE share this page. (Also, if you have any graphic design/video editing/animation projects you need help with, or an extra car you'd like to sell/donate, send me a message; I'd welcome that, too :)

Thank you!
