Jensen Ebbert

Scott and Makenna Ebbert had their baby boy Jensen Gunner on November 2, 2019.  Soon after they brought him home from the hospital they noticed that Jensen was twitching which later resulted in a seizure. After doctors examined him they received Jensen's preliminary lumbar results and found out he has Meningitis. They are still going to incubate some samples to see if they can determine the strain and see if it grows. If nothing grows after the incubation period they will send the samples for a further test essentially looking for the genetic code of the bacteria. As for the lumbar procedure itself Jensen did amazing! They used some numbing cream for the insertion area and didn’t need to give him anything further for pain as well his blood pressure and heart rate stayed the same!

Knowing the diagnosis gives a treatment plan and hope that he can make a strong recovery. Unfortunately the brain damage he received from his bleeds is irreversible and we won’t know what the damage is until he grows and has to reach milestones. 
Unfortunately after an ultrasound doctors discovered multiple abscesses in his brain that needed to be drain immediately. Jensen will be getting brain surgery tomorrow to remove the abscesses.

Jensen will be in hospital for approximately 8 more weeks which means Scott and Makenna will not be returning to work until Jensen is more stable.
