Jen’s Hospital Stay

This is Jennifer Ostrum, our daughter. Yesterday she began feeling quite ill and by the time she was walking to the train, she thought she was having a heart attack. Her husband Bill picked her up and immediately took her to the ER. Since then she has had a series of tests with no answers to what is causing the problem. Now her blood pressure is extremely high and the doctor has ordered more tests. And based on the outcome of the tests, she may require additional treatment.

Unfortunately this had happened at a time where Bill is unemployed and Jen is an hourly employee. If she doesn’t work, she doesn’t get paid. They currently have no insurance unless they can pay the Cobra payment for this month which is $1,700. If they are unable to cover the Cobra payment, the hospital bill will be astronomical.
