Hello everyone!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page and read a little about our story.
My name is Chris and my wife Jen has been recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon Cancer.
It all began with some bleeding that led to a colonoscopy on February 7, 2018 that discovered a fungating mass. On February 13, 2018 a CT scan determined that the 4 cm mass had gone through all three walls of her intestine. After surgery being cancelled twice due to hospital policies at SMH Jen went into surgery on March 23, 2018. Approximately one foot of her intestine was removed as well as several lymph nodes in the surrounding area. When the pathology reports returned we were told that there was also cancer cells in 3 of the 18 nodes removed.
Jen will be meeting with a Oncologist this week at Southlake Regional Healthcare Centre. We won't know for how long or how frequent these treatments will be until our meeting this week to discuss her treatment plan.
As you can imagine this has put an incredible amount of stress on our family, our big family. Jen and I have 10 children ... Makenzie, Abby, Zachary, Dexter, Theodore, Charlotte, Nathan, Mckenzee, Alexis and Amber. With the added expenses of travelling to and from Southlake Regional Healthcare Centre, parking, gas, medications/treatments, childcare, monthly bills and the loss of wages from employment we need to ask for help. Jen needs your help, I need your help and our children need your help. Please find it in your heart to offer your support in any way that you can through financial donations, your advice, your ideas or thoughts.
Throughout all of this, Jen has continued to be the strong, courageous and positive woman that is grateful for all of the love and support that has been given to her on this journey.
