Jen's Fight to Conquer Cancer

We are looking to raise funds for Jen, a mom of four, who was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. Those who know her can attest to how amazing she is, however if you do not know her, we wanted to give you a look into who she is and why now, more than ever, she deserves the love and support from her friends, family and community. 

 

Jen has worked tirelessly to create a positive environment for her children and those who she surrounds herself with. She has dedicated her time towards making her community a better place by volunteering for Everyone Eats, Grande Prairie, fundraising over $8000 for PACE, and often participates in fundraisers that directly impact her friends and family. If that wasn’t enough, she has devoted her career to spreading love, kindness, and mindfulness by teaching the power of meditation to adults, as well as children. She wants nothing more but the world to understand the power of being a more mindful person and the benefits that can hold.

 

With Jen’s diagnosis, she is having to put a pause on the things she is most passionate about as she focuses on her path towards healing. She has had to cancel all her yoga programming and workshops, as well take a leave of absence from the preschool. Her time will be spent receiving treatment and caring for her family.

 

 Jen is amazingly optimistic stating "If you know the lotus, you'll know it grows out of dark muddy water, rising up from the bottom to bloom a beautiful flower resting peacefully on top. It is a reminder of the past I've overcome and the strength in my soul. It is a reminder that "the lotus is hope." It is even more timely now as I head into yet another part of my story where I will prove to myself, my children, family, and friends what I am made of as I conquer colon cancer."
