Jennys fundraiser for South Wilts Mencap
Hello! I’m Sinan Goktas, proud owner of Jenny’s Bistro Cafe in the heart of Salisbury. Since taking over the café in July 2024, our community has welcomed us with open arms, sharing good food, warm conversation, and unforgettable memories. Now, on Monday, 12 May, we’re inviting you to join us for something truly special: we will be donating 100% of our day’s revenue to South Wilts Mencap, the local charity dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities and their families.
Why South Wilts Mencap Means So Much to Us
As a father of two wonderful children with learning difficulties, I’ve seen firsthand how vital tailored support, social connection, and understanding can be. South Wilts Mencap—though part of the wider Mencap network—is entirely self-funded by volunteers at their shop on Catherine Street. Your generosity helps pay for:
- Recreational activities that bring joy and confidence
- Peer support groups for individuals and families navigating similar challenges
- Guidance sessions tailored to parents and carers, equipping them with practical tools and emotional resilience
Your contribution isn’t just financial—it tells every member that they matter, that our community stands behind them, and that together, we can build a more inclusive, compassionate Salisbury.

We’ve just kicked off the campaign with our own £100 gift. Every additional pound raised on our GoFundMe page will go directly to life-changing local services.
