My sister Jenny and her family have lost their house and most of their belongings to toxic black mold.

They moved to Wisconsin and bought a house this summer. As soon as they moved in Jenny started having severe allergic reactions, dizziness, muscle pain, fatigue, headaches, etc. Their girls (Rebecca and Eve) are 8 and 7 and had frequent headaches as well.

Their home purchase inspection had missed a long term roof leak, and a wall under the leak was filled with mold called Stachybotrys and Aspergillus.  These molds produce mycotoxins which are dangerous to anyone, but especially those with compromised immune systems.

Jenny has had chronic health struggles for several years and a previous run-in with toxic mold which made her especially susceptible. When someone is hypersensitive to mold, they are not able to be healthy in a house that has had a mold problem, even in the past.

They have had to throw out most of their belongings, everything not made of metal, glass or well sealed wood.

Upholstered furniture, mattresses, bedding, paper, books and clothing become contaminated with mold spores and are not able to be cleaned thoroughly.

They have been living in a tent in their yard for the past 7 weeks (their outdoor loving kids have found this to be a great adventure) but are moving into a new home on October 1st.

Their new church family in Wisconsin have been kind enough to bring meals and help with laundry. I'm starting this fundraiser with the hope that we can ease some of their financial burden in home repairs and other expenses.

Any donation would be so appreciated and would mean the world to Jenny and Tristan. Please keep them in your prayers!

Jenny shared a verse from the Bible that has taken on new meaning for their family: "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moths and vermin do not destroy and thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:20
