Jenn's Insulin Pump

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Jenn.

As some of you know...
I am type 1 diabetic. For those of you that don't know, I am 31 years old and this year marks my 20th year of diabetes.  Over these years, I have definitely had my ups and downs with uncontrolled diabetes. Unfortunately, earlier this year, I got my first major complication, and it was a wake up call to say the least.  I was diagnosed with Diabetic Retinopathy (bleeding blood vessels in my eyes) and was nearly blind for months. Shortly after that, I was also diagnosed with Diabetic Nephropathy (kidney disease) and will need a transplant later in life. Lastly, I was also diagnosed with Diabetic Neuropathy (intense nerve pain in my legs and feet). What's the solution to these problems, you might ask? GET MY SUGARS UNDER CONTROL! Come on Jennifer, you have people that LOVE you! What are you doing?!

A few months ago...
I started my brand new Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitor.  This device reads my blood sugar 24/7 and has completely changed my life! This has helped get my eyes under control and keep my kidney function stable. This device has been a blessing and I couldn't be happier with it.

But that's not all...
To really get my health together, and to be the absolute best diabetic I can be, that would require the purchase of an Insulin Pump System. This device would continuously administer insulin into my body and never allow my sugars to get high. It would mean no more syringe pokes, because 36,000 to date isn't enough right?!

Honestly...
I DREAM of having an insulin pump. I've cried over it so many times! I've also cried because it feels so out of reach. I have already maxed out my budget with the Dexcom device and it's upsetting to me that all of this stuff is so expensive.
Why is it so expensive to be a good diabetic? Why is it so expensive to eat healthy? Why do I have to live with diabetes for the rest of my life? Well the truth is, I can't do anything about THAT, so I have to do something about IT.
That is why I am asking you, my wonderful friends and family, if you could help me reach my goals, and get me on track with a new Insulin Pump System. It means the world to me to have such great people who care about me, and with these improvements I know I will be able to live my life so much longer!

If you are not able to donate, I am also open to healthy, low carb meal ideas and weight loss tips!

Thank you so much for your support!
