Jennifer's Breast Cancer Expenses

In May of 2016 my mother, Jennifer, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Months later, she was diagnosed with colon cancer, & then tested positive for active uterine pre-cancer. On Monday,  she will being having a hysterectomy which marks 6 surgeries & 3 cancers in 18 months. Not only is she one of the toughest women I know, but she has also managed to remain positive throughout her continuing journey with breast cancer and utilizes her own experiences to promote awareness to women everywhere. My mom is always selflessly advocating to women that they should always have regular breast exams and that breast cancer could always be a risk no matter their family history, genes, or health. As strong as she appears to be, I know that she is struggling physically, emotionally, and financially. She will always have my support and I do as much as I can to help her. But from doctor bills, insurance co-pays, lost wages, medical trials, alternative treatments and appointments at Duke, it’s becoming not only overwhelming, but almost impossible. And now she will also be going without income for 5-6 weeks until her doctor certifies that it is safe for her to work again. I want her to be able to focus on healing this time around.  She’s already had a long journey and we still have ways to go. I never thought I’d have to ask for donations, but at this point I’m willing to do anything for her. Anything helps. Even if it’s just clicking “Share”.
