Jennifer's Brain Aneurysm Battle

Jennifer Anderson is a proud mother, loving wife and dedicated special education lead at Westview K-8. In early May, while working with a difficult student on campus, she became ill and due to the lack of emergency planning at Westview K-8, suffered a medical emergency and was denied medical care.

Her condition immediately worsened and she began to lose consciousness, unable to stand on her own she was seated in a wheelchair.

Despite two nurses on campus and other staff wanting to call for aide, they had previously been given instruction by Principal Jones that only the school resource officer or administration could call 911.

Principal Jones did not respond to the scene of Ms. Anderson’s medical emergency and due to inadequate communication devices, the school resource officer and other administrators did not respond in a timely manner, which delayed the contact to rescue. By the time rescue arrived Ms. Anderson was unresponsive.

Upon arrival to the hospital, Ms. Anderson was life flighted to another hospital for emergency brain surgery. She was in a coma for several weeks after her surgery and is currently unable to speak or move on her own.

Although Ms. Anderson will need around the clock care for the foreseeable future, her insurance will soon no longer pay for her stay at a rehabilitation center. Her husband, Mr. Anderson is in danger of losing his job due to his need to be off work to assist his wife.

Household bills, countless hospital bills and medical treatment fees are mounting. Any donation amount is sincerely appreciated and 100% of funds raised will go directly towards helping Ms. Anderson and her family during this tough time.

Ms. Anderson has devoted years to serving students in the Duval County School Board that have special needs. She and her family are in need of all the love, support and financial assistance you can donate.
