Jennifer's GMT trip to Nicaragua

Hello everyone! :)
This year I've been given an amazing opportunity to spend Christmas break on a medical/dental mission trip in Nicaragua. I, a pre-dental student at the University of Virginia, will be volunteering there December 18-25 as a member of the Global Medical Training (GMT) team. GMT is an International Humanitarian Organization that provides free medical and dental services to communities in Central American countries where there is a great need for medical attention. Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Americas, and as you can guess, many people in this region have little to no access to basic healthcare. Often Nicaraguans walk for hours from distant villages with their families just to receive care from these mobile clinics. During my time there, I will be actively assisting doctors in treating these patients. I am truly blessed to have been given this opportunity to partake in such a humbling and life-altering experience, all while learning more about my future profession.
Unfortunately, the expenses of this trip really add up, coming out to a grand total of $2,500. These expenses include: medications and supplies, translators, guides, physician salaries, local travel expenses to and from clinics, lodging, and flights to and from Nicaragua. I hope that you review my request for your support not only as a way to cover these costs, but also as a way to participate in and contribute to the lives of countless families that are in need. ANY amount, big or small, will make a difference. If you are not in a position to support financially, I appreciate and value your prayers and moral support just as much. Thank you all in advance!!!
