Jennifer Lewiston Family Fundraiser

Jenny and Jay Lewiston have given permission to share their story and hold the following event:
Our friend and co-worker, Jenny Lewiston, was diagnosed in July with an extremely rare form of cancer – primary melanocytic neoplasm of the central nervous system. She had lesions in her brain and one on her spinal cord. Shortly after being diagnosed with the cancer on July 23, Jenny experienced a stroke and had emergency surgery to stop a brain bleed and remained in ICU for several weeks. She has been fighting and working so hard with therapy while undergoing radiation and at Mercy Hospital.
Jenny is now at On with Life in Ankeny to continue physical therapy and relearn many of life’s daily tasks she suffered from the stroke so she can move back home. She so badly wants to be home with her husband, Jay, and her two boys, Alec (6) and Aksel (who turns 1 on December 13!), as well as her pets and extended family -- it is her motivation to work hard and meet her goals. She has beat odds after odds and fights each and every day.
The “Friends of Jenny” committee is planning a benefit in December to raise funds to support Jenny and her family. We want to help the Lewiston family during this holiday season and for Jenny’s continued time at On with Life. Her husband continues to work full-time for the City of Des Moines and keep up with their little boys and their home. Jay drives at least 3 – 4 times a week from Norwalk to Ankeny to bring the boys to see their mom. It has been a tough year for them and their world has been rocked both emotionally and financially. We want to make sure they feel our love and support.
We have started this GoFundMe account to help the Lewiston family. Donations will be accepted through December 20.

Please join us at Confluence Brewing Company Taproom at 1235 Thomas Beck Rd, Des Moines, IA 50315 on December 19 from 4:30 - 7 p.m for $1 of each pint purchased will go to the Lewiston fund. Come support our fundraiser happy hour to help Jenny and Jay Lewiston and their boys, Alec and Aksel.
