Jennifer Goodman Duckwall died unexpectedly on Sunday, September 9th, 2018. Jennifer was recently diagnosed, as of June 2018, with stage four pancreatic cancer. Up until her death, she was under going medical treatment in order to fight her terminal illness.

Because of the advancement of her cancer, Jennifer did not qualify for any surgical procedures, possibly prolonging her life. Instead, she chose to work with a team of medical professionals, providing a more natural approach in fighting her disease. Jennifer didn’t want to expose her children and loved ones with the added burden of taking care of her while receiving chemotherapy and radiation.

Jennifer was never one to ask for help. She was always putting others first. As a mother her world was her three young children, raising them to be loving, caring, and hard working individuals. Her love for them knew no bounds, and her presence will remain with them forever, and reflect in everything they do. Her children adored their mother and wanting nothing more than to make her proud, which they did. As a teacher, Jennifer’s teaching style was hands on. She created a strong bond with each of the many students who filled her classroom. When walking into her class, one was instantly met with a community of students, wanting to learn, and knowing their teacher was going to help them succeed. As a friend and co-worker Jennifer inspired each of us to challenge our students, love our children, and not to take no for an answer. She showed those around her that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.

In the short time Jennifer lived with cancer, she fought every step of the way. She never once wavered her fighting spirit, nor did she view herself as a victim. She looked at her situation as one with purpose. Jennifer thought of her diagnosis as one with a deeper purpose. She saw herself as being on a mission. Her goal was to learn everything about the medical journey she was on, and how she could use the knowledge obtained in order of becoming an advocate for those with the same diagnosis.

At the time of her passing, Jennifer felt the love of those around her, and saw just how truly blessed she was. She surrounded herself in the company of those she cherished and was extremely grateful for everything she had.

Jennifer has left behind her young children and fiancé. Along with the hardship of losing their mom, they are faced with the uncertainties of so much. There are unpaid medical bills, expenses of a service, and the unexpected bills to come. Your help and/or contribution will provide the peace of mind in knowing Jennifer’s children will be provided for. Helping to ease the stress of financial strains will help Jenifer’s children and fiancé the time needed to focus their attention to grieving the beautiful person Jennifer was, and begin to celebrate the life she lived with them.
