Jennifer Decator's Recovery

Donation protected
I am writing this letter about my dear friend Jennifer Decator.  Jen was recently diagnosed with brain cancer just before Christmas. She has a lovely 2 year-old daughter and a loving partner.

She isn’t only my good friend, but my employee and she is going through a very difficult time with her health.   Jennifer works at The Pipes and Taps Pub with me and the rest of the staff and is a huge part of our family.  In early December Jen said I don’t feel right something is wrong, after trying to continue to t to work for a couple more days she ended up in the emergency room to try to figure out what was wrong. After some initial diagnosis the hospital decided to give her a CT scan and they discovered she had a mass on her brain.  This was obviously the last thing any of us every expected to hear.

A few days later Jennifer had brain surgery to remove the tumor on her brain and have a biopsy done on the tumor for possible cancer.  The surgery went well, and they were very aggressive at removing the tumor.  Unfortunately, to the devastation of us all the tumor was cancerous.  Jennifer now must have 33 days of radiation to remove the part of the tumor that couldn’t be removed thru surgery as well as chemo at Juravinski Cancer Center.   She must travel to Hamilton every day for her treatments and then after the radiation treatments end she will have further chemo treatments for 5 days a month for 6 months.

Jennifer has not been able to work since Dec 3rd therefore putting a huge strain on her family for money with bills, mortgage, gas money (back and forth to Hamilton everyday) and everyday life with a 2-year-old, the expenses are adding up quickly.

Jennifer is having a very hard time coping with not being able to help support her family as she is an extremely hard worker who puts her all into her job and takes pride in working every day, this on top of the incredible emotions she is dealing with from this devastating medical situation that came completely out of nowhere.

I know there are many people that love and care for Jennifer and we would all appreciate any little bit of help financially you could provide to help Jennifer out, so she doesn’t have the stress of money on top of fighting her illness.

Jennifer will not be able to work for a while, so we are just asking if we could all pull together, so she and her family do not have any more added stress financially.   She has amazing support from her partner Kenroy, her mom Gloria, stepdad Bruce, brother Scott and her best friend Jackie. Never mind her beautiful 2-year-old daughter Sophia who gives her the strength to get going every day. If we could all carry some weight, so they can be with her and help her through her time of need that would be much appreciated.   Thank you from all of us that love Jennifer Decator.
